At BASIS Independent Manhattan, a private school, we are a passionate community of advanced learners. We seek students who want to participate in a collaborative and supportive community where learning is celebrated both in and outside of the classroom.

The admissions process at BASIS Independent Manhattan is selective and multi-step to ensure that we spend time getting to know each applicant and family.

Rolling Admissions Fall 2023:
We are now accepting applications for the 2023 – 24 school year for PreK – Grade 10 in our Rolling Admissions application cycle. Submit your application today or attend a Campus Tour.

BASIS Independent Manhattan includes two campus locations. Our Lower School campus on the UWS, is a PK – Grade 5 private school. Our Upper School campus in Chelsea, is a Grades 6 – 12 private school. Rolling Admissions (Fall 2023)

We are accepting applications for fall 2023 in our Rolling Admissions application cycle. Families may apply for PreK – Grade 10.

An application is deemed complete when all supplementary materials are received and required meetings are attended. You can download an application checklist for the appropriate grade below!

Admissions Timeline:
Application Submission Deadline: Applications for all grades are open until the grade has closed. Once a grade has closed, submitted applications that are eligible for acceptance will automatically go into our waiting pool. 
Application Completion Deadline: There is no deadline by which you must complete your application (please see application checklists below), but seats will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis to students with completed, eligible applications.
Notification Date: Within 10 business days of completing your application, starting after the following dates by age:

PreK-1 and PreK-2: After March 9, 2023
Kindergarten: After February 16
Grades 1 – 8: After March 3
Grades 9 – 12: After March 16

Commitment Date: Within 15 business days of being offered a seat.
To accept an offered seat, families must sign a binding Enrollment Agreement and make a non-refundable deposit of $5,000 by the enrollment deadline.
