Mr. Scionti, a veteran BASIS Curriculum Schools educator, earned a Bachelor’s degree in Music, and a Master’s of Music in Choral Conducting, from the University of Arizona. Mr. Scionti (and his family) are Arizona transplants. Prior to living in New York City, he served as Director of Academic Programs and Dean of Students at BASIS Oro Valley, after starting his BASIS Curriculum Schools teaching career at BASIS Tucson in 2011.
Mr. Scionti’s years of experience in teaching general music and choirs in K-12 schools have influenced his educational philosophy greatly, inspiring him to infuse creativity and innovative practices into the BASIS Curriculum for primary students, and to always strive for a dynamic learning environment.
Mr. Scionti is overjoyed to be part of the founding BASIS Independent Manhattan team. He shares, “I am inspired and energized every day by the passion and zeal of my colleagues!
"In addition to my work at BASIS Independent Manhattan, I enjoy family time, cooking and gardening, social justice, travel, singing, languages, and culture. I also have made it a goal to learn all of the lyrics to Hamilton so I’m fully prepared to win the ticket lottery!” says Mr. Scionti.
